Using a General MM9 Moisture Meter on Drywall

If you have had some sort of water leak or plumbing issue in your home, you may need to determine if there is water sitting behind or above sections of drywall in your home. It is possible that you may not need to remove sections of drywall to determine the amount of water damage behind your walls.

With a homeowner grade moisture meter, it is easy to determine a basic idea of moisture levels and whether or not you need to take further action after a leak, flood or water event. In this episode of Everyday Workbench, we are using a home owner grade moisture meter made by General to show how easy it is to determine wet drywall from dry drywall, even if the exterior (painted side) side of the drywall is dry to the touch.
